Whole You Welcomes our new    Massage Therapist Katie.

Katie Stroman is a Licensed Massage Therapist and the owner of Evanescence Massage & Bodywork. Her journey began in 1998 when she moved to magical Lake Tahoe, California. During her two year stay, she found herself immersed in an alternative health minded community. As fate would have it, it was there that she received her first professional massage at a spa and knew right away that this was her life’s passion. Shortly after she moved back to the Philadelphia area, where she was born and raised. She then enrolled at Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy (now Cortiva) and graduated in 2003.

Over the last nine years Katie has worked with several Chiropractors as well as a top destination spa. In 2011 she started her own business and works with a range of clients, including: auto and sports injuries, chronic pain, stress reduction and preventative care. Her massage has evolved into a fusion of many techniques that include: Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot Stone, Heat therapy, Aromatherapy, and Thai Massage. Each session is customized to meet the specific needs of the client for the most beneficial outcome.

One of Katie’s favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Massage, though a physical act, goes so much deeper than just that. To Katie it is about encompassing the mind, body, spirit and building strong relationships with her clients so she can fully understand their needs. However, it does not end there. Katie continues to evolve and develop her skills as a Massage Therapist by continuing to educate herself. She also finds enjoyment in Yoga and reading on topics such as Health and Wellness and Personal Development.
